Its bent into the shape of a receiver but none of the holes are drilled, no rails are installed (no rails included), nothing is trimmed, no mag dimples, no x / y dimples, etc etc. The 4 unbent flats all include the lower rails. All the old flats were made this way and the older style flat benders will bend the top rail. The flats do NOT have the top rail bent like the new ones do. Of the 4 flats, there are two different styles, but they are virtually the same, the only difference is the holes are made to finished size on one, and are just small starter holes on the other. Ive collected them over the last couple of years from different places. I have no idea who made the unbent flats, but I would like to think they are from. So, after the rifle was completed, I was invited back to the shop to see how an AK receiver is built from a flat stamping. Mike didn't want the readers who are considering building their own receivers to feel left out because we used a factory-finished receiver.
